Dear Customers,
Over the past several days, our Frankfurt datacenter has experienced occasional brief interruptions, including packet loss and increased latency, typically lasting a few seconds, and sometimes up to a minute.
The cause is ongoing DDoS attacks from the “Aisuru” botnet, currently impacting many networks worldwide, including large cloud and hosting providers. Trade reports estimate the botnet’s capacity at 20–30 Tbps. These attacks aim to overload network infrastructure; your data is not at risk.
Since the start of these attacks, our team has been working around the clock to mitigate them, including:
Enhancing detection and filtering mechanisms
Expanding network capacity
Distributing traffic across multiple uplinks
Collaborating with upstream transit providers on early detection and pre-filtering
Most attacks are now fully filtered, though latency-sensitive applications, such as game servers, may occasionally experience brief issues. TCP-based services like web and email generally remain unaffected.
We expect this situation to continue for a few more days as we complete planned upgrades, including terabit-scale network expansions and new cross-connects and fiber routes, which require unavoidable lead times.
During this period, urgent network maintenance may occur on short notice. We will keep this status post updated and encourage you to contact us if you notice issues lasting longer than a few seconds.
We greatly appreciate your patience and loyalty as we work to restore full service quality at our Frankfurt datacenter.
Sincerely,
AlbHost.
